Vibration of nature
Solo exhibition at the Begijnhofkerk Church, Mechelen, Belgium
2024

“One my practices is aimed at turning your gaze to nature. You focus on the movement of the trees and the swaying of the stems as they are stirred by the wind. The vibration of the forest soothes you. You immerse yourself in the landscape, becoming one living organism with your inner turbulence. This natural state of being is sedative, if only for a while. Oxygen fills your lungs, providing life and safety.

Air raid siren. Explosion. And then I pass by a bombed house and a burned tree.“ - Alina Zamanova

This juxtaposition of the violent and the peaceful creates a compelling narrative that encapsulates the broader spectrum of human experience during war. The artist's work serves as a reflection on the simultaneous existence of stillness and chaos. It emphasises the emotional dichotomy of living in a country where the echoes of war are in constant tension with moments of everyday tranquility.
